FAMILY MATTERS: David’s Unspeakable Betrayal
Sunday Nov 28, 2021
Sunday Nov 28, 2021
Rev. Matt Miller (Matthew 1) We know the holidays often present us with opportunities to be with family. For some, that is a time of rejoicing and celebration. For others, having a good relationship with family members can be difficult. For still others, the sadness of not having family is depressing. In the Gospel of Matthew which begins with a long genealogy, we read about Jesus’ family. While there are kings and those near to God’s heart, we also see a lot of brokenness. This reveals to us that even Jesus’ family was a mess. With this in mind, we can see this advent season as a reminder that God can work through any family, even ours!

ROMANS: Live by Faith “I’m Free! Now what?”
Sunday Nov 14, 2021
Sunday Nov 14, 2021
Russell Jung (Romans 6:15-23) The Apostle Paul is telling the Romans that they are free from sin and just as if a man were set free from being a slave he wouldn’t return to being a slave this is how they are to act toward sin. If you were a slave of sin and then you were set free then you shouldn’t go back to it. Furthermore, he says that if you have faith in Jesus Christ then you have become his servant and you can’t serve sin and Jesus. So Paul is encouraging the Romans and us to live as free people seeking to serve Jesus Christ knowing that there is an eternal reward waiting for us.
